Who we are

After a lifetime of California living, my family and I moved to La Grange to enjoy country living at its best. The wonderful old barn is home to our herd of goats, chickens, sheep and our Great Pyrenees, Freida. Every day is an adventure for these city folks living a simple life.

Christa Nahhas spent many years in the Education Technology field, but her roots were in Culinary Arts in the San Francisco area and later as a caterer in her hometown of Los Angeles, California.

La Grange, stone dwelling and bank barn, has a rich history in architecture, agriculture and during the Civil War played a significant role as a hospital according to local historians. Prominently located on the Valley Pike, a major thoroughfare through the Shenandoah Valley, La Grange was home to many noted Frederick County citizens such as, Vance Bush (landowner and trustee of the German Presbyterian Church in Stephens City) and Dr. John McLeod (a physician, farmer and Member of the Virginia House of delegates during the 18th Century). During modern times, the Costello Family spent time lovingly restoring this old home. We hope to continue the legacy, turning our old smokehouse into a guest house and our barn into a wonderful place to visit.
